Donald W. Freese was appointed an FBI Special Agent in June 1996 and was assigned to investigate White Collar, Corruption and General Criminal matters in the Fairview Heights Resident Agency of the Springfield, Illinois, Field Office.  In August 2005, Mr. Freese was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent in the Criminal Investigative Division, Public Corruption Unit, at FBIHQ in Washington, DC, where he was responsible for national program management and later assumed responsibility for developing the FBI’s International Corruption Program.  During his assignment with the International Corruption Program, Mr. Freese integrated intelligence and criminal operations missions worldwide between the FBI, Department of State and with the Department of Defense.  Mr. Freese has also served numerous overseas deployments, in Europe and in the Southwest Asia combat theatres, where he established the International Contract Corruption Task Force and the FBI’s International Corruption Unit. 

In February of 2008, Mr. Freese was designated to serve as supervisor in the Dallas, Texas, Field Office, Fort Worth Resident Agency, where he supervised Public Corruption, Civil Rights, Complex Financial Crimes, and Health Care Fraud investigations.  In February of 2012 Mr. Freese was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Dallas Field Office, where he supervised the Dallas Critical Incident Response Team, Enterprise Operations, Technical Operations and Computer Forensics.  In February of 2013, Mr. Freese was appointed Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Dallas Field Office, National Security Branch, where he is currently responsible for all Counterterrorism, Joint Terrorism Task Force, Counterintelligence, Cyber, and Human Intelligence Missions throughout North Texas.

Mr. Freese, a native of Denver, Colorado, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from California State University at Fullerton in 1991.  He began his public service career with the United States Army as a Commissioned Officer in the Infantry and Intelligence Branches where he served in the 501st Airborne and 18th Airborne Corps.  Mr. Freese held the rank of Captain at the time of separation from active service in 1996.   

Mr. Freese is currently pursuing his Masters of Science in Management (MSM) through Boston University, with a core concentration in Business Continuity, Security, and Risk Management (BCSRM).  He is married with four children and resides in Keller, Texas.
