The October meeting of the Book Club will be on Tuesday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Adrienne Dominguez, 3701 Turtle Creek Blvd., #12BR, Dallas, 75219.  We will discuss Human Croquet, by Kate Atkinson, whose first novel won the 1995 Whitbread Award in Britain.  Part fairy tale, part mystery, part coming-of-age novel, Human Croquet tells the story of Isobel Fairfax, a girl growing up in Lythe, a typical 1960s British suburb.  Please note that the Club generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month (although the September meeting is on Tuesday).  For the November 11 meeting, in keeping with Veteran’s Day, we will discuss The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, by Daniel James Brown, and the book for December 9 will beTwo Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights: A Novel, by Salman Rushdie.
